Leigha A. Shepard
Founder, President
Leigha is passionate about helping people work toward achieving their financial goals and is a long-time student of the markets. She enjoys educating clients about the markets and how they work to better equip them in making wise financial decisions for themselves. She believes that her role in working with clients goes beyond just investments to understanding each client’s individual situation, personality and relationship with money and helping them define and work toward goals that have personal meaning to them and their families.
Experience
Leigha graduated from Baker University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. She has been helping clients plan for their future as a financial advisor for over 26 years. She founded Midwest Financial Partners in December of 2005 following a nine-year career with Merrill Lynch and a three year career with H&R Block Financial Advisors.
Community
Leigha and her husband, John, live in Overland Park and they have four grown children and four grandchildren. She grew up in a small farming community in mid Missouri. Leigha has a heart for the homeless and a long history of volunteering and supporting organizations in the Kansas City area that serve that community. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, golfing and is an avid runner.
