Leigha A. Shepard
Leigha is passionate about helping people work toward achieving their financial goals and is a long-time student of the markets. She enjoys educating clients about the markets and how they work to better equip them in making wise financial decisions for themselves. She believes that her role in working with clients goes beyond just investments to understanding each client’s individual situation, personality and relationship with money and helping them define and work toward goals that have personal meaning to them and their families.
Leigha graduated from Baker University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. She has been helping clients plan for their future as a financial advisor for over 25 years. She founded Midwest Financial Partners in December of 2005 following a nine year career with Merrill Lynch and a three year career with H&R Block Financial Advisors.
Leigha and her husband, John, live in Overland Park and they have four grown children and three grandchildren. She grew up in a small farming community in mid Missouri. Leigha has a heart for the homeless and a long history of volunteering and supporting City Union Mission. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, golfing and is an avid runner.
Steven D. Reichle
Steve’s mission as a Financial Advisor is to help grow and manage clients’ finances wisely while providing superior customer service. He values client relationships and works hard to earn their confidence and trust through diligently working on their behalf. His philosophy is to use a well developed retirement plan in managing a client’s assets and he uses it as the cornerstone of management process. The goal of the process is to make financial decisions simple! The unique combination of Steve’s wisdom and experience and Cole Reichle’s zeal and creativity make Midwest Financial Partners an ideal choice for clients.
Steve received a Bachelor of Business degree from Washburn University’s School of Business and successfully completed the “Certificate of Financial Planning” program at Kansas State University. He also worked as regional sales director for a financial services firm in Denver, Colorado. As a former commercial banker and Senior Vice President of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka, Steve has 30+ years experience in banking and financial services.
Steve and his wife have lived in the Topeka community for over 35 years. Steve has been active in the Topeka community, involved in the Optimist Club, the Lion’s Club, Junior Achievement, and the Southwest Youth Athletic Association. Steve currently volunteers in various capacities at a local church and a community college foundation. He also serves on the board of a local bank. Steve is committed to improving the community in which he lives, and he takes that same interest in helping his clients to improve their financial future.
Cole S. Reichle
Cole works with clients to find an individual financial plan that will help meet their needs and goals. He provides superior customer service and earns the client’s confidence and trust through his diligent work on their behalf.
Researching and evaluating the various financial products and how these products are performing in the current economic market is a skill in which Cole excels. This ability allows him to more effectively advise clients on the most appropriate products for their unique situation.
Cole received a Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State University. While at KSU, he was active on campus in Habitat for Humanity, Homeless for Hunger, and Kansas Breadbasket. Cole successfully completed the “Certificate of Financial Planning” program from the University of Missouri of Kansas City. Prior to his position at Midwest Financial Partners, Cole was employed by several financial firms in the consumer and mortgage finance areas. In addition he was a financial advisor for a large brokerage firm in Overland Park, KS.
Cole is an investment adviser representative and is licensed in health and life insurance.
Cole, his wife Abby, and their children reside in Lenexa, KS. Cole has been active in his community, participating on a softball team and volunteering for Junior Achievement and in the Special Olympics. He enjoys spending time with his family, working on electronics, reading and participating in sports.
Heather R. Smith
Heather takes a very personalized and holistic approach to financial planning. She believes that each plan begins with an individual or family’s dream and creates a comprehensive plan from that important starting point. Heather believes that all pieces of a client’s financial picture including investments should align with a person’s values and work together towards their individual goals.
Heather has been with Midwest Financial Partners since 2014 coming to the firm with previous financial services industry experience. She is native to the Fort Worth area with a business degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. Heather is an investment advisory representative for the firm with a life and health insurance license. Currently, she is working to acquire her Certification in Financial Planning to better serve our clients’ needs.
Heather lives in Prairie Village, KS with her partner, Patrick, son, Asher, and three energetic pups. She enjoys teaching financial wellness classes in the community and serves as the investment committee chair for the Church of the Resurrection Foundation in Leawood, KS.
Rick Ryan, CFP®
Rick’s focus is on comprehensive financial planning taking into consideration the full aspect of his client’s financial life including retirement planning, investment planning, risk management, tax planning and estate planning viewing each piece to complete the client’s financial picture. Rick runs a high touch, full service practice. As such, he requires clients to meet with him a minimum of twice per year to keep abreast of changing lives and active markets. His mantra is “It’s not about the money, it’s about the life!”
Rick has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Washburn University. His is a Certified Financial Planner and a Chartered Financial Consultant. He spent the first 25 years of his career with Security Benefit Group working in administration, sales and product and market development. Since 2000, he has been working with clients providing financial planning services.
Rick and his wife, Cyndi, have two adult married children and four perfect grandchildren. They live in Topeka where he is active in his church, his Rotary Club and Free Masonry. He serves on the Board of the Kansas Masonic Foundation, The Topeka Civic Theatre and Academy Foundation and Kansas Masonic Literacy Center based in Emporia.
Amanda is passionate about client relations and is eager to build relationships with current and potential clients. She is currently working as a Sales Assistant for the group and is studying to become a licensed Investment Advisor.
Amanda is new to the team, joining in April of 2019. She comes to us with a strong financial background, as she had been in the banking industry for 13 years. Amanda has been working with clients since 2006, helping them with retirement, estate, trust, custodial, and commercial account options.
In her free time, you can find Amanda spending time with her son, Brody, and avidly exploring local nature trails with her dog, Karen. Amanda’s love for children has led her to teach 1st grade Sunday School at her local church and to volunteer for Junior Achievement, teaching our youth about the importance of saving money.
Nicholas E. Czarnecki
Nick provides his clients with a highly personalized, goal-based planning process, and helps execute their plans through an open architecture, technology driven platform. He believes incorporating modern technology and processes into proven planning strategies is the best way to keep him highly connected with his clients and drive the results needed to meet their goals. To Nick, having a strong client-advisor relationship is the foundation to a successful plan, so striving to make deep connections with his clients is a top priority for him.
Nick received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kansas, studying Economics, Political Science, and Environmental Science. He entered the financial industry straight out of college and began his career with Guardian Life Insurance Company. He completed his Series 7 and Series 66 shortly after entering the industry, giving him over 5 years of both investment and insurance experience. Before joining Midwest Financial Partners, Nick was an advisor with one of the fastest growing Registered Investment Advisory firms in the country.
Nick and his wife Mitzi both grew up in the Kansas City area, and currently live in Olathe, Kansas. Nick stays involved with his community by participating on local government committees, volunteering through his church, and playing on recreational sports teams. He enjoys playing basketball, hiking, backpacking, and attending Kansas City sports events.
